It was announced last year that Vodafone would be starting to offer 4G LTE services in the capital city of India starting from December of 2015, however, technical snags meant that the service was not launched. However, new year has brought some good news for the users of Vodafone connection in Delhi as the company is already issuing out 4G ready SIM cards to the consumers who want to try out the service.
Vodafone purchased the 1800 MHz TD-FDD spectrum last year for the rollout of its 3G, unlike Airtel which is part on 1800 and part on 2100 MHz spectrum. If you do happen to try out the new Vodafone 4G network, Vodafone will also give you a free 1 GB of data as a promotional offer to get you going.
Vodafone announced: “Customers upgrading to 4G-Ready SIMs will be rewarded with free 1GB 4G internet at the time of launch. All they need to do is send a short text message to GO4G to 199″
We have already seen the rollout of Vodafone 4G in cities like Mangalore in Karnataka and parts of Kerala. There have been confirmations that the carrier is already working on testing the 4G services in other important metro cities like Mumbai, Kolkata etc.
