Windows 10 Screenshots Appear before the Build Conference

Windows 10 is set to be the next major Windows release, which would attempt to bring about a vertical integration across all the major device categories including mobile, tablet as well as PC. We have already seen bits and parts preview of Windows 10 and some of its features, but a more in-depth walkthrough is set to take place today at the Build conference today.

But, well before the keynote can go live, a couple of leaked screenshots of Windows 10 give us a fair few interesting things to ponder and sit upon. First thing you will notice in the screenshot is the return of the Aero effect, which is basically translucent menus. Though this time, unlike in Windows 7, not all menus will bear the effect, and it would be present only in the Start menu which also is set to make a comeback. You have Cortana integration in the Start menu, and also the tiles have a 3D effect as well as a sort of live feed running on them with flip effect, giving us a peek into the Live Tiles for Windows 10.

You also have several subtle UI changes like in the toolbar below as well as in the newly designed Start Menu. We will definitely have a more in depth coverage of what is new in Windows 10 after the keynote today.
