It’s here! Microsoft has confirmed that Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) update will be here in two weeks time. After a series of speculation about the release date of Windows phone 7.5, Microsoft made the announcement on Windows team blog.

This is what they said at the blog:

For months, we and dozens of our partner companies have been laying the groundwork for the Windows Phone 7.5 update – and making solid progress, as a result, we now expect to start rolling it out in the next week or two. At that time, we’ll also refresh the Where’s My Phone Update table to reflect the worldwide rollout status.

The post at their blog also warns the windows phone user to stay away from the leaked copies or any other copy. The blog said that installing unofficial copies might be harmful for your device as the device requires proper firmware to function and bootleg updates damage the firmware. It will also be made sure that during the update process the software for windows phone will be received from the handset manufacturer.

It is interesting to note that Windows phone 7.5 update will bring over 500 new features for your phone including the much awaited built in multitasking and windows live messenger support. Also users can now have the personalized live tiles at their home screen. Mango also sports an updated people hub which makes sure you have one single interface for Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and Windows live messenger saving you the burden of switching between apps.

So, if you own a windows phone device get ready to update it to the latest Mango version.
