Xbox Live for Windows 8

Microsoft’s Windows 8 just got better. How? Well Microsoft has said that Xbox live will going to feature in Windows 8, which is amazing news for all PC gamers.

Initially this information was rumored after some members saw an Xbox tile during the briefing at BUILD conference, but later Microsoft’s Larry Hryb confirmed the rumor.


This is what he had to say:

We are confirming that we will be bringing Xbox LIVE to the PC with Xbox LIVE on Windows. We are very excited about Xbox LIVE coming to Windows 8.

Bringing Xbox LIVE to Windows 8 is part of our vision to bring you all the entertainment you want, shared with the people you care about, made easy.

At BUILD we are showing that it is easy for developers to create games for Windows 8 that take advantage of the power of Xbox LIVE.  We have much more detail to share about the capabilities of Xbox LIVE on Windows and look forward to the opportunity to do so in the near future.

Xbox Live’s integration will let the user to access all their Games, TV shows, movies and music on any of their Windows devices. Xbox live is already featured in windows 7 smartphones and with the latest integration you can use it on your PC a well as your Windows 8 tablets. The company has worked hard to make sure that all three platforms (PC, Tablets and Smartphone) can interact and developers don’t find a hard time in making games and applications.

This is a huge step for Xbox as no other gaming console has been ever been put in front of such wide audience. Microsoft has really done their homework and one by one it is showing the world why it ruled the PC market for more than 30 years.
