Just on the day that the Xiaomi Mi3 went on sale in India, the Chinese giants have gone ahead with the expected announcement of the next flagship device, called the Xiaomi Mi4. The Mi4 was launched in an event in Shanghai, China today. The Mi4 is an incremental update from the Mi3 and can be seen more of an iPhone 5s succeeding the iPhone 5, there are no Touch IDs here though.
The device will come with a 5 inch full HD display with a Snapdragon 801 SoC at the heart of it. There is 3 GB of RAM on board to keep things moving along smoothly. The internal memory remains at fixed 16 GB. The Mi3 has a metallic band around the device as well as a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front facing camera catering to the selfie trend. The device will feature a 3,080 mAh battery and Xiaomi remarked that the phone is capable of charging to 60% from 0 in about 1 hour time.
Not just the device, there was a fitness tracker that was announced too. It is the first time that Xiaomi has decided to jump in to the whole wearables trend. The tracker will cost about $13 which is almost Rs 800.The band will monitor your fitness activities and will be available in several colors such as green, blue, pink etc. The band has a 30 day battery and will also be used as a proximity unlocker for your Mi4 device. There is no display on the band itself and you will have to connect it with your Mi device to know your activity patterns such as your sleep, walk etc. There is no mention of the availability dates of either devices yet.
