After announcing it in China back in July, Xiaomi has finally brought the much-anticipated Mi4 to India. The device was unveiled at a press event in New Delhi yesterday which saw Xiaomi give out some very interesting statistics such as having sold already more than a million smartphones in India in about 8 months of existing in the country. Xiaomi also announced plans to set up an R&D center in India exclusively which will start taking up shape soon. MIUI 6 was officially announced too and the update for the same to the Mi3 users has already begun rolling out.
The star of the show however, was the Mi4. The device is priced at Rs 19,999 which is not really all that budget friendly, especially if you consider the fact that only the white variant of the phone will be available and that too only in 16 GB variant without any LTE. The Mi4 has no expansion slot so the internal memory is definitely an issue. Xiaomi did say that the 64 GB variant of the device will launch down the line.
In terms of other specs, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 801 SoC and has a 5 inch QHD display. The phone has metallic edges and plastic back and body primarily. You get a battery of 3080 mAh and RAM Of 3 GB which would help propel the device running on Android KitKat 4.4 with MIUI on top. The Mi4 has a 13 MP rear and an 8 MP front facing camera on board. The registrations for the device are already open and will go on sale on Flipkart on February 3.
