Xiaomi has been notorious for cutting and chopping down the prices of the smartphones in India in order to boost the sale and clear their stocks. We saw it with the Mi3 last year as well as with their current flagship Mi4 this year, when the 64 GB version of the phone was dropped down to Rs 17,999 from a launch price that was north of Rs 20,000. While these discounts really help Xiaomi bring new customers on board as they are able to pick up tried and tested phones for values that are lower than their launch prices, they do leave a bit of a sour taste in the mouth of those who picked it up in the launch batch.
And looks like the practice will continue as the official price of the Mi4i has now been dropped to Rs 11,999 for the 16 GB version. The new prices are live for the device at all the usual places including the Mi website, Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal. So far the best price of Mi4i in India for the 16 GB version was Rs 1,000 more at 12,999. The 32 GB version of the phone interestingly is not even listed anymore on Flipkart, though the old listing on the official website still shows the phone to be at Rs 14,999.
The device comes with a 5 inch 1080 P display and is powered by Snapdragon 615 SoC. There is support for Dual SIM, both of which are capable of latching on to LTE. It comes with 13 MP rear camera and Android 5.1 out of the box running MIUI 6.
